I just installed this today, Tip 1. make sure you plug the RCA cables in all the way to the box, it takes some force, that was the only issue I had when Installing. Tip2. mount the modulator box with Zip ties.br /br /This project turned out great in the end but here are some tips, An issue I had was the included 3.5mm cable is only 24" long, about 3" too short for me because I was routing it, so I went to radioshack to get a regular cable but ending up getting a Gigawear Ipod 30 pin to 3.5mm cable with a noise filter and 4 foot long for , now with the regular 3.5mm cable I had quite a bit of static while playing the Ipod, enough to be annoying when listening to talk shows on the ipod, but with this Gigaware cable I have almost Zero!! NOt sure if it was because it connects to the 30 pin on the Ipod or because of the noise filter but it is great, So I defintly reccomend getting this from Radio Shack, Radio shack is a awesome store.br /br /Over all these piece was the cheapest way to attach the ipod and the performance is perfect, hope it lasts.

Works as advertised, but poor quality control. - Diahann -
I ordered this product to use in a 1971 Mercedes. When I received it, I opened it up and, while inspecting it, I found one of the fuse holders was already broken - not just kinda cracked; it was really broken. However, I was in something of a hurry, so, instead of returning it, I just taped the thing up, made sure it still functioned, and installed it. br /br /Once installed, it worked about as expected. The quality was. . . acceptable. I really don't know if I can comment on the quality, because I was running it through a 40 year old radio from eBay that had replaced another aftermarket stereo. The sound also was coming out of 40 year old speakers. Because of these unusual factors, I'm not really sure where the loss in quality came from. It's probably from a mix of all three factors. Anyways, it sounds, as I said before, acceptable. Most music sounds okay, but certain songs just sound wrong in it. I'm not sure why.br /br /However, my biggest problem, and the reason why this product is only getting three stars from me, is the lack of quality. After I installed it, it worked fine. . . for a while. Then, suddenly I turned my car on and all I could get was static. Because other stations worked perfectly, I was led to believe that the problem lied in the modulator, and I was correct. After going through the irritating process of removing the radio and getting behind the dash, I discovered that the "fixed" fuse holder had come apart. I found a part that would replace the broken fuse holder at Radio Shack, and, after replacing this part, it worked fine again. Yes, the reason it failed was because of my poor repairing skills; however, if it would have just come intact, I wouldn't have had to do this.br /br /Pros:br /Works as advertisedbr /Has a nice on/off switch to allow listening of regular FM stationsbr /Not too difficult to installbr /br /Cons:br /Arrived partially brokenbr /Questionable sound qualitybr /A hassle to fix if broken (requires a lot of work to get to if behind dash)

When I purchased this item the reviews were on the good side. After I installed it i found that it works well but has a constant hissing sound that wont go away.
